Ladies and Gentlemen...

... we have our first steps! Yes indeed, Miss A took a few tiny steps tonight. Wonder how long before she is running across the room? :D

Akasha's New Fort

She has taken quite a liking to hanging out in the bottom part of these shelves and is learning some good lessons about how to avoid bumping her head.

Scandi Fair!

We went to a Scandinavian fair over on the Eastside. A friend's daughter was dancing, so that was a real treat to see!
Very authentic pancake balls, accompanied by not so authentic diet coke and Lay's.
This dog was quite good entertainment! He was getting really high catching the frisbee and almost never missed!
His buddy preferred more of the cuddly type of activity.
After the fall.... Orion took a pretty big spill while Ron was twirling him, and he cried for such a long time. Almost seemed like he needed a release. He finally got into better spirits and ate some cookies. Yes, it was a carboholic day.
They had some supplies out for wreath making. I love these two because it looks like Akasha has the crown!

Somebody needs a haircut!
The one thing Orion kept saying is that he wanted a viking helmet. Lo and behold, somebody was selling some!
Silly leafhead.
Cracking up at this one as it captures this new thing she is doing where she breathes in and out through her nose quickly while it is crinkled up.
Just plain cute.
Look out Pan.
Ron and Orion were playing a game involving fetching a stick, a very big stick....
Slightly scary balloon guy.
Orion, waiting....

And then you would think there would be a picture of the finished product, but no, because I fail at photojournalism LOL. But for the record, he chose a giraffe.

Cutie Butt

I remember taking so many sleeping pictures of Orion, and I haven't taken hardly any of Akasha. She has just lately taken to doing the heiny up in the air thing, and it is just so darn cute with a big, puffy cloth diaper butt!

Little sleeping angel. :)

The Great Magnolia Shoot Out!

No, not guns silly. Cameras! I have several homeschooling friends on the Westside that are either professional photographers or just really into it, so we decided to get together and see what we could capture of our littles. Here are some of my favorites of the day.

Akasha's foot, with leftover body paint from a bday party earlier this week.
Grape thief!
My cold boy after playing in the fountain. I didn't get the memo about the clouds.a
There will be a grape and raisin theme you will notice shortly....
Serious boy.
Had a blast getting this one all sepia'd out just right.
Bonding over raisins.
This was hilarious. If you look carefully, you will see the little guy is being herded into standing right over where the water was going to spray up.
Orion got up on the high spinny thing for the first time and was holding on for dear life.
Yes, he went back in the water even though the sun didn't come out.
Also quite funny moment. He was doing this special little standing on the dome dance.
More raisin bonding.

"I like these puckered up little things!"
"I will defeat this creature!"
What *was* he looking at...?
And now... some great shots from my friends! The next two are Zoe's, and I think she totally nailed both kids! Akasha with a grape in each fist LOL!
And just so Orion - all about motion and balled fists but with a smile on his face.
Then a couple from Nicole. I got to thinking I would love one of me holding Akasha up with the sky behind her since we have something similar of Orion.
I went and found his - just a little resemblance? Maybe I will frame these together some day.
And last but not least! I now actually have a picture of me and both my kids!

The Magic Quilt

So Kristin told me on A's birthday she was working on a quilt, and I was really excited to see it. I had a Heritage Maker's workshop tonight, and she brought it over. Wow! It exceeded my wildest imagination!
I put a picture of it on Facebook and described it as screaming diversity, hippie and homey all at the same time. Couldn't get more "me"!

It's even black on the back - so practical!
Akasha seems to like it too!

She is very into playing peekaboo these days, but misses her eyes at least half the time LOL.
Looks like a football pose. She really is taking after Ron!
