Exotic Animal Expo

We went to the Exotic Animal Expo. I kinda thought I might get some hermit crabs for our tank, but somehow we ended up with a degu! I have read about them in the past and always thought they
would be good pets.

So now, introducing our new family member, Charlie!

Major Dental Work

Our poor baby girl needed to have a ton of dental work done. I felt so awful that I wasn't keeping more careful track of her teeth. I figured any issues would be about on the same timeline as Orion, but her stuff showed up much earlier. She needed so much work that she had to go under sedation, which about killed me. But she came through it great. Except later that day, her face was kinda swollen, which kinda freaked me out. You can see it in these pictures I took for the dentist. It was pretty much gone by the next day, but wow, what an experience.

Ron and I went to Beauty and the Beast as a late Valentine's date.  To be honest, I wasn't that impressed.  As much as we love the stage version of The Lion King, I was expecting to love it, but thought it was pretty mediocre.  Still, a night at the theater is something we hadn't done in longer than we could remember, so that part was pretty cool.  :)

Our Dirt!

I have been taking a permaculture course.  It is something I have always wanted to learn more about, so this has been an exciting opportunity.  One of our homework assignments was to put some of our dirt in water and see how the layers settle out.  if you look really closely, you can see there are quite a few!  Our soil is pretty clayish, just like I suspected.

Hearty Craft

Akasha and I did this fun craft together.  You soak the yarn in glue and shape it into the design you want.  Then after it dries, you fill it with glue and add food coloring.  When that dries, you can peel them off the wax paper and put in a window for maximum prettiness!

Nature Altar

Not a very good photo, but just had to share this because it was so cute.  We went on a walk around our neighborhood and collected some leaves and flowers.  When we got home, he arranged them all into what he called an altar.  Sweet boy!

Lantern Festival

This is an event that happens every year at the Portland Chinese Gardens.  I have always wanted to go, and it was as lovely as I imagined.
 There was also some entertainment.
 Peoplewatching.
 It's  year of the dragon!

I even went and got some Chinese food with friends afterwards.  I whole night of culture!  :)

Note to Self: Frame this One!

Ron captured this picture of a rare moment of sibling love.
