Jade is Six!

This certainly has been the summer of birthdays it seems. All these kids are growing up too fast!

Here is Orion two fisting the whistles!
Pizza making was the big activity of the day - great idea! It was even homemade dough by Daddy Will.
Blurry camera phone picture of Orion's creation. Gogo mom for not charging the phone.
Jade looks like she is concentrating so hard!
This would be Orion eating raw mushrooms LOL. He ate all of them that were left in the bowl and a few more Mama Kristin cut!

Magnolia Park

We got an awesome new park super close to us. We were so happy to hear it was open and the water feature was up and running. So we went over today and...
Grrr!

Orion still had a great time though. First he was playing with a boy a little older than him. They were a great energy match and both very into throwing the sawdust at each other. It was a nice to change to have this light weight stuff instead of the harder wood chips. It was also great for burying feet. :)

Orion decided he didn't really need the water feature and showed his new friend how to make an instant spray park out of the water fountain. They were having a blast and getting their hair all wet. Like a dork, I left my camera in the car and thought I was getting pictures of all this on my phone camera. Only I forgot you have to hit save after every picture. :sigh: Orion was standing his hair up and saying he had his spikes back up. The other boy had curly hair, and Orion proclaimed, "His hair is circles!"

When the boy left, it was time to befriend the two girls that were there together.
He kept walking around holding hands with them. It was cute and hilarious. He got along so great with everybody today!

Here is fountain spray park, take 2. The little girl looks pretty happy to have picked up Orion's skill.
Akasha and I hung out in the shade. She has her first little scratch on her nose, probably from her sharp little fingernails.

Baby Yummies

We got an exciting package in the mail from my rockin' friend Paul and his wife. He was one of my best friends for years. Then we both went and got married, so you know how that goes. :)

Would you just look at all the luscious organic cotton baby goodness! So, so soft.

But Akasha was a cow today instead! This is a loaner from Rachele. I tried to spread this out so the cute design would show, but I didn't do a very good job.

Then something amazing happened later. I set Akasha in the bouncer just to tape a box together. She was looking content and drowsy, so I decided to see what would happen, and she fell asleep!

Wouldn't you know it...

We went to see Dr. Valerie today for allergy testing. The results are in and... Akasha is wheat and dairy sensitive just like her brother! Ron thinks the muscle testing is a bunch of crap, but it isn't like I knew what was in the tubes, and she didn't know Orion's deal. Gee, what a coincidence.... Oh, and her blood type is B+

Here is the benevolent Akasha:
LOL, something about this picture looks pope-ish to me. Like she is about to reach out her hand and start blessing people.

Rock Paper Scissors Revisited

So Ron worked on this a bit with Orion after I told him I tried to teach him, and now he is totally into it. The funny thing is, he he uses his thumb and pointer for scissors, so it looks like a gun instead haha.

Wizard of Oz

Orion has been noticing the Wizard of Oz VHS box lately, so I decided a family movie night was in order, especially since it was a pretty sluggy day and I needed some couch oriented entertainment. :) Even though he often doesn't care for movies with live actors, I thought this would be a bit more enchanting with all the costumes and such, and indeed it did hold his interest quite well!

I was tickled because I have been somewhat of a fanatic in the past. I was one of those kids who looked forward to that one night a year like it was Christmas. (Wow I am giving away my age here). When I was in college, I had the entire movie on cassette - dialogue and music. I used to listen to it in my VW Bug and knew the whole thing by heart.

I chose the Glenda picture because I really liked her when I was little. Then I went though all kinds of phases. First I thought it was great than they had good witches and bad witches. Then I thought it was lame there was some sort of connection between good meaning beautiful and bad meaning ugly. But then I took it the next step and thought it could be argued that being bad eventually makes you ugly.... Hmmm.

Then of course I have heard about how Wicked has a whole different take on things. I really need to read that one of these years.

Death of a Benz

What a day , what a day. I have now officially been in my second worst car accident, and the baby was with me. I don't think I have ever been more freaked out by something in my life. In fact, I can't even remember what was happening right before I got hit. They asked me to describe the accident, and I honestly can't remember! It is like I have some memory loss of those few minutes, and that is even more freaky!

We were rear ended in our Benz station wagon. Just the baby and me. We are OK, but I am quite sore. The entire back was smashed in, and I was hit into the person in front of me. I was in complete shock and just kept saying "oh my god" over and over. The keys were knocked out of the ignition, so I had to find them to even turn off the car. Then I couldn't get the back door open at first. I must have had that super mommy power going because I yanked it to get the baby and it opened. Then it wouldn't even come close to closing. It was like two inches off! The entire back window shattered, and there were pieces of glass in Akasha's carseat! But miraculously there wasn't a scratch on her! I was so completely freaked out and was probably squishing her I was holding her so tight! Ron drove right over. He said the entire frame is bent, and that means they are going to have to total it. I am so sad about this. There goes our biodiesel car. I am also worried about if this is going to affect my back. It would be a bummer to not be able to babywear, but the most important this is that we are OK.

Ron took some pictures with his phone. Somehow it doesn't look as bad here as it felt. You have to remember, though, this is a 5000 pound car! Ron said he must have been going at least 30mph faster than us to do that kind of damage to an old Benz.

Front end damage
Rear end damage with shattered window.
Here you can see how far off the door is
Going to be some PT and chiro in my future methinks.
